Tango is currently in a foster home and not at the shelter. Email jpasfosterEB@gmail.com to meet Tango
Tango was found a few months ago on the side of a road after being hit by a car. He was rushed to MSAH where it was determined he did not have any broken bones but did have deep open wounds on his front legs. His attending vet remarked what a wonderful dog he is, even during multiple wound cleanings. His owner was eventually found but he never reclaimed Tango. Tango was supposed to be used for breeding, never taken to the vet, and his ears were surgically altered using scissors. Despite this, staff and volunteers are in agreement: Tango is a very sweet dog.
His foster home says, 'Tango will fill your life with endless amounts of laughter and love. This guy has survived a lot; all at the young age of 2-3 yrs old. From day one of finding him bloody on the street, he has been nothing but sweet. Tango is always just happy, loves to be hugged, and is ready to go for walks. Even on his own, Tango will entertain himself by throwing his toys in the air. He loves his plush squeaker toys and marrow bones. He likes balls but has not figured out fetch yet. He will gently mouth on arms on occasion when he's playing without intent to harm but we have started to correct this behavior. He easily sits for treats and will stop in front of the treat closet when coming in from walks! Tango has the sweetest puppy eyes. He does easily get spooked by loud cars and trucks. We think a heavy hand was used with him as we noticed he cowards and flinches if we move our hands too fast. We tell him all the time that no one will ever hit him again. Tango will be your best friend!'
Despite his injuries, Tango is playful and dog friendly. He's unsure of cats, and we recommend a household without young children due to his mouthiness when he plays. Tango no longer requires daily cleaning and bandages.
