If you like a big, sloppy kisser, Mojo is your man! This super-sweet guy has never met a stranger and loves everyone. He smiles standing at his kennel door enticing any of his best humans to take him on a walk. This big boy tries so hard not to jump up on you, but sometimes his excitement gets the best of him and up he comes! He already knows "sit" and he does like his treats so we think "down" and "off" will be his next accomplishments with a little training. Mojo is surprisingly good on the leash. He might pull but a quick correction and he is heading back in the right direction. Mojo came to us because his owner was moving and could not take Mojo to the new location. His original owner had Mojo since he was a puppy, so he is used to going outside to do his business. We suspect, based on Mojo's inclination to put his paws on the chairs in the visitation rooms, that the big guy is used to joining his human on the couch! He certainly enjoys relaxing with a belly rub. And you won't stop laughing when you see Mojo lower himself to the floor and plop his head on the floor - kerplunk! Who could resist snuggling with a dog whose idea of 'personal space' is about an inch! Mojo may enjoy another canine in his new furever home but it would be best to bring his new sibling in for a meet and greet to determine compatibility! There is much more to Mojo's story, so come by and meet Mojo today! I am an Underdog because I have been here for more than 30 days so my adoption fee is reduced! I needed a break from the shelter so I went into foster, please email if you are interested in meeting me. I also have color mutant alopecia, although the prognosis for normal hair growth is poor, this is only a cosmetic disorder which does not interfere with an affected pet’s quality of life.

About Atlanta Humane Society - Alpharetta

About Our Shelter...

Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) and the oldest private charitable organization in Atlanta, founded in 1873 following a visit to the city by Robert E. Lee. The animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. AHS, now a widely recognized pet adoption center, clinic, and educational program provider, was originally located on Marietta Street and moved to its location at 981 Howell Mill Road in the 1930s. Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell Road Adoption Facility was opened in December of 2011 in Alpharetta.

It is our mission to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring society.

Atlanta Humane Society places approximately 8,000 animals into forever homes each year. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the Southeast United States.
