Sasha was found tied in front of an apartment building in the Bronx. The finder stated that his father works as a super of the building and she was found earlier this morning on 07/27/16. They waited for an owner to return but she was left outside for a few hours. Behavior during intake Sasha was very friendly and allowed all handling. She allowed to be approached and jumped up to greet us. She was scanned (-) and collared and sat nicely for her photos. She was then transferred into a kennel. A volunteer writes: What time is it? It’s belly rub o’clock–that’s what time it is! So sweet and gentle, Miss Sasha was ready for a walk, taking care of her business the moment we were outside, and wagging her tail as we walked to the park. In the park, she lay down froggy style to better watch everything going on, and when I sat down next to her she rolled over for a belly rub. Must be belly rub ‘oclock!!! She’s sweet, playful, gorgeous and fun, giving me lots of kisses, wanting to meet other dogs we passed, and in group play she romped with other dogs and politely greeted those that didn’t want to play. Good girl, Sasha! The Urban Dictionary defines Sasha as a ‘warm hearted person’, and Wikipedia explains the origin of the name as a ‘helper of mankind’. They both really work with our girl who is warm, friendly, social, sweet, and affectionate. Her little tail never stops wagging, and as she can get a little mouthy when she gets excited that our behavior team suggests a person or family who is experienced and does not have young children. She sits when asked and takes treats softly. Sasha is smart, petite and ready to learn everything she needs to know with positive reinforcement–so come meet our ‘warm hearted helper of mankind’ (OK, a little poetic license) today! Every day should be belly rub day!
