Russell's Story...
AVAILABLE 10-07-16 On 10-01-16 an Animal Control Officer was at the location of our old Shelter when this friendly dog walked up to her for a pet. She loaded him into her truck and brought him to our new Shelter. We tested him for heart worms and found none, vaccinated him and named him Russell. He was missing some fur, but with proper nutrition and attention, it seems to be filling out and he's even more handsome than when he arrived. Russell is a bit of a goofy guy who loves to lay on his back while sleeping on his Karunda bed. He does pretty well on leash walks and although he seems to love people, Russell would probably prefer being an only pet. His adoption fee includes his neuter and a microchip. If you'd like to meet Russell just come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City - he'll be the one stretched out on his back snoozing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Russell, a Elizabeth City Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
