Hi my name is Ziggy and I am a 2-3 year old female border collie/husky cross from the Northwest Territories. I am a sleek 25lb running machine and like to take at least two good walks a day, especially along trails and at the dog park.
Due to family issues my "dad" can no longer keep me. But he does want to see me in the best forever home possible because, he says "I am a good girl and deserve the best."
I play well with other dogs off leash so could happily live with another playful pup. I am also very gentle with children and enjoy their attention. However I do have issues with cats...and squirrels..and get the idea. They are all great squeaky toys as far as I am concerned.
i am an outgoing and sociable girl who is very attentive, affectionate and eager to please. My very favorite game is tug of war. I especially like a good session after dinner. I am quite well behaved but do need a little more work being polite on leash when approached by other dogs.
A trainer recently did an assessment of me and said I was a fabulous dog. My "dad" agrees and say whoever gets to adopt me will be very lucky. If you enjoy being greeted at the door as if you are a rock star, having a warm furry body to cuddle up with and having a best friend who adores you even more than liver treats, I am your girl.
I am healthy, happy, spayed, microchipped and up to date on my vaccinations. My adoption fee is $400.

About Home at Last Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Home at Last Dog Rescue is a small group of volunteer animal lovers whose goal is to help homeless, neglected and abused dogs find caring and responsible homes.

Our volunteers are dedicated individuals who have joined together to form a new rescue group. We are commited to helping dogs in need and to provide them a second chance at a happy life.

Our dogs are not kept in a shelter. We depend on the support of caring and compassionate people to care for our dogs until we can find them permanent, loving homes. We provide vet care and rehabilitation to all of our dogs.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting a rescue dog, the first step is to search through the list of our dogs currently available for adoption. All dogs remain on Adoptapet and our website ( until an adoption is finalized so all dogs listed may be applied for.

Our job is to find the right home for each of our dogs. We will contact you to arrange for a home check at your convenience. Unfortunately, many of our applications are rejected, not necessarily because there is anything wrong with the home, but because it is not the right match for the dog. Following a successful home visit, we will arrange for you to meet the dog, usually in their foster home. At that time, you will decide if you would like to adopt the dog.

Before an adoption can be finalized, we will ask you to sign an adoption contract. Depending on the dog’s personality you may be asked to visit the dog once or twice before taking him or her home. This will be most common with shy, timid dogs. Outgoing and confident dogs can most often be taken home after the first meeting. Documentation for each dog will be provided upon adoption. Adopters must be ready to pick up their adopted dog home as soon as they have been approved and have agreed to adopt the dog. Home At Last Dog Rescue BC cannot hold dogs for people who have applied but are not yet ready to accept the dog into their home.

Please note: an adoption fee is required for successful applications. The adoption fee is non-refundable, even if the dog is subsequently returned. Home At Last Dog Rescue BC will always take back one of our dogs for any reason, and without question. Adoption fees for our dogs vary. The price varies based on the age and medical needs of the dog being adopted; costs are judged on a case by case basis.
