This beautiful girl is Sapphire! She is approximately 11 months old and was an owner surrender to a kill shelter. She was a last minute save and she is looking for someone else who will believe in her. Sapphire has a shy and gentle nature and requires a little time to get comfortable with you. Once she does, she is sweet and affectionate and loves to be by your side. She is great with other dogs and her favorite activity is laying on the couch chewing on a toy. She would probably do best in a home without small children because of her timid nature but fine with older children. She has never shown any aggression at all. If given a chance to relax, Sapphire will show you what a great addition she'd make to your life!

Sapphire is spayed and up to date on shots. She's listed as a Staffordshire Bull Terrier on her shelter sheet and it says she's 36 lbs. I'd be surprised if she weighs that much though because she's very thin. She's a little doll! Come meet this angel and give her the second chance at life that she so deserves.

About Keely's Friends Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Keely was my 14-year-old pitbull that crossed Rainbow Ridge a few years ago. She was the most mishievous, rambunctious girl you can imagine and she was my girl. She was the kind of dog that many would have given up on. She was an escape artist and I spent many days and nights searching for her once even finding out that she had snuck in through a neighbor's cat door and walked upstairs to his bedroom, jumped on his bed and woke him up with a lick in the face at 3am in the morning. On one of our daily runs I had to swim into a cow pond to save a cow that she had decided to grab by the ear while the cow was taking a dip. She decided my neighbor's pet llama was a little too close to me one day and decided to grab her around the throat....llama was fine. So many fun stories...smile emoticon I often wondered if Keely had not found me and ended up in animal control....would she have made it out? Most pits don't....over 750,000 euthanized yearly...90% of bully-type dogs that end up in animal control are PTS immediately. This led me to start a rescue group named after Keely. I mainly rescue medium to large breed dogs from animal control as we know those are the first ones to be euthanized. I also focus on catahoulas as those are often misunderstood and end up in animal control but I've worked with all breeds. Keely's Friends Dog Rescue has rescued and rehomed over 70 dogs at this point and I look forward to helping so many more. I dream of a world where we no longer have to euthanize any dog for overpopulation and every dog has a wonderful, loving home.
