Perdie is a 4-year-old heeler mix that came in to the local shelter as a stray. As a lively girl who needs an outlet for her energy, she didn’t do so well at the shelter. Perdie learns very quickly, enjoys training, and is motivated by treats and approval from her humans. She just started an obedience class and would likely excel at off-leash training or even agility. Perdie already does well on a leash and has excellent manners in public — she doesn’t bark at other dogs or people at all — even in the close quarters at the pet store, which is great because she really wants to come with you on your adventures! In fact, she absolutely loves to spend her time as part of the family and is as sweet as can be — she loves kids (as you can see from the picture of her with her foster’s daughter). She also has a great time playing with her toys or chewing on a tasty bone —but she will do best in an active home that can provide the structure that she needs.
Perdie can be a little picky about which dogs she shares a home with so introductions are a must. She might do best with a male dog about her size, but we are still learning about her preferences. Of course if you don’t have any other dogs, Perdie is ok with soaking up all your love and attention, too.
