**Buddy is currently being fostered in Houston. Unfortunately, meeting him prior to his adoption will not be possible. Buddy is one of those dogs who needed help and we just couldn't say no! He is the sweetest man and we wanted nothing more than to be a part of finding his forever family for him.

Buddy is a roughly 3 year old Lab/Basset Hound mix (yes, you read that correctly!) who is around the 40 pound mark. He is fully grown and will not get any bigger. Buddy would be best suited for an active family that can give him plenty of exerercise. He would a good size/energy mix for any type of living situation.

Buddy has done a great job of acclimating into his foster home, including working hard on his kennel and house training. Bruno is great with other dogs and currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and cats. He would make a great buddy for a resident dog but would also be great as a bachelor dog.

Buddy is great around children who are gentle and loving to animals. He would be a great buddy for some active kids to grow up with!

Buddy should be adopted by a family who understands that he will take time and patience as he acclimates into his new life. He may have accidents, chew on things he is not supposed to, and bark in his kennel. It can take dogs a few weeks to properly acclimate to their new lives, so he is seeking a family that can give him this time and work with him on becoming an even more awesome dog than he already is. Buddy should be adopted by a family who plans to keep him indoors as part of a family - we do not adopt dogs into situations in which they will be left outside for extended periods of time unattended (for example, the entire work day).

Unfortunately, Buddy did not recieve great preventative care prior to coming into rescue and he is heartworm positive. He has been started on a slow kill treatment protocol and the rescue will supply the medication he needs to fulfill the treatment plan.

Buddy is fully vetted (neutered, shots, and microchipped) and has no known allergy issues.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application. This can be done via our website at - please hover over the adoptables tab and the application will appear.

About Reggie's Friends - Baltimore

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on street dogs and shelter cases that other rescues may not have the resources for. We live and love by our motto Street Life To Sweet Life.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application that can be found on our website at under the Adoptables tab. Our team will then review the application, contact references, perform a vet-check, and request photos of the common areas of the house and yard that serve in lieu of a home visit. Following the completion of the application, we set up video chats either through Skype or Facetime between the foster and adoptive families.

Our adoption fee is $500, which includes the cost of transport and any relevant vet care appropriate to their age.

Guidelines to our basic adoption procedures can be found on our website under the adoptables tab.
