Jemma's Story...
"Jemma" is a beautiful 5-year old female Beagle who was surrendered by her owner on November 22, 2016 along with "Lily" who had shared her previous home. (Another companion "Bea" is also in our shelter.) "Jemma" has a black-and-white short smooth coat, short legs, a short body, a long tail, and a lovely tricolor face with a tan mask and extra-large black velvet ears with chocolate brown 'edging'. This little lady was very friendly and loved attention while she was outdoors for her photo session. She didn't appear to have had any prior leash training but did fairly well on her 'maiden voyage' with a little encouragement and baby-talk :) "Jemma" was curious about the Christmas decor around our fire hydrant, and she was so cute to watch as she cautiously explored the brightly colored gift boxes :) "Jemma" is pleasingly plump and weighs 28.6 lbs. Her previous owner told us that "Jemma" loves her food and can be a little protective of treats, etc.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jemma, a Marietta Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
