About Siberian Husky Assist

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Siberian Husky Rescue was new as of November 2003. We have grown from one to 9 fosters, and 25 supporters of our Rescue. As of 2009 we are down on fosters due to their adopting from 9 to 4. Our husky rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, fecal and heartworm tested, and any medical problem is taken care of before adoption. Some of our rescues are on our "rescue sled dog team" that does dog sled demos at our events to educate the public on this breed. So we are fortunate in that even our Siberian Huskies help out their own breed. We temperament test the dogs, and try to work with them if time allows to find out obedience and personalities. We are always a phone call away from any Siberian Husky owner that may need a bit of help with their Siberian.

We believe educating the public about the Siberian Husky is important to be sure they find the best forever homes. We have and are IN NEED of foster homes, event help, and any help of a general nature such as checking on adopted dogs, and fund-raising.

Our next goal is to have an actual location which will help EARN funds for Community spay/neuter. It will include a Siberian Husky, (incl. Handicapped) rescue area. An education center that will also help educate the public and their children in a "fun way" about how to choose ANY dog. We will use the Siberian Husky breed as an example to explain the importance of the history and the characteristics of a breed. We will educate these things through use of a special historic setting, and a sled dog training area, to show how this particular breed was used not only thousands of years ago, but even today in Siberia. We will also stress the importance of spay/neuter and the pet overpopulation problem. Plus inform them of ways to get help if needed in the community.

All dogs have some talent even if it is to sit next to you and make you feel wanted. But all dogs are not for everyone, and everyone is not for all dogs.
WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE BREED FOSTER HOMES.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have Adopt-A-Thons once a month. We love to host events in the community! Check out our EVENTS page on our website: www.siberianhuskyassist.com .
We also set up "Beginners Dog Sledding" classes in the fall and winter, so people can better understand what the Siberian Husky and dog sledding is all about.

Our Adoption Process...

Our fee for our Siberian Huskies is now $200.00 unless noted in the description part of the dogs listing. This includes spay/neuter, shots, fecal & hw test, and any medical done before adoption. Microchip is included.

We will be happy to mail/fax a copy of our contract or you can print one off of our website: www.siberianhuskyassist.com

Reference check and home check is done before adoption. Follow-ups will be done up to a year later.
