Petunia is a sweet, 8 year old female Golden Retriever. Petunia enjoys leisurely walks in the backyard and afternoon naps.

Petunia has tested positive for Heartworm and will be assessed and treated after she arrives. Se'll need to be on a no activity regimen for 30 days post treatment while she recovers and on a low activity regimen for 6 months. Both her treatment and blood test after 6 months are paid for by GRFR at one of our contracted vets. Petunia's forever family will need to be sure she takes a monthly heartworm preventative year round. Some people might be leery of a dog like Petunia who has had heartworm, but there is no need to be. It is both curable and preventable.
