Gigi's Story...
Gigi and Tombo are male kittens, born outside in the early summer of 2016 to a mom living in a storm drain in a townhome community in Franconia. They were rescued along with three other kittens from the same family. Stormy and Sunny have already been adopted, and sister Osono is still in foster care.

When Gigi and Tombo first arrived in their foster home, they were terrified of everything and everyone. They are now much less fearful and friendly with people they know. Gigi and Tombo like to come to a person quietly and have pat and snuggle time. They are very sweet boys, but are still afraid of loud noises and sudden movements. Gigi and Tombo love to play with toys and will always come running for canned food!

Gigi is a black kitten with white patches on his chest and belly. Tombo is a Russian Blue mix.

Gigi and Tombo are current on all of their shots and have tested negative for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. They have been neutered and micro-chipped. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gigi, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
