If Sheldon were a cat he would have used up at a few of his nine lives in his short life already! He truly is one lucky dog. A very dedicated good samaritan found him in rural Georgia. He was found as a stray and someone had decided to dock his tail by using zip ties; this did not work. The tail was swollen, infected and the zip ties were imbedded into poor Sheldon's skin. After the due diligence and fabulous care of our good samaritan and the local veterinarian Sheldon is a happy, healthy, playful puppy!
Our happy little guy is about 6 months old; he is currently no more than 40 lbs and will not get much bigger. He is part Australian Cattle dog and Beagle. He has a very kind and loving personality, but is definitely a puppy and will need finishing! He loves other dogs, cats that are tolerant and children that are gentle.
If you are interested in adopting Sheldon please email SLN2310@yahoo.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers.
After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Sheldon's adoption donation is $400 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
