Brutus is an adorable older guy who was surrendered to the BC SPCA Nelson Branch with his brother Bruiser. Brutus and Bruiser are the same age but are from different litters. They were surrendered when their owner found they did not have enough time to exercise these two and their living arrangements changed. Both boys are slightly overweight and would require a diet with frequent exercise. In their previous home they lived with cats and young children. Since they have been together their whole lives we are hoping to adopt them out together. If you're interested in meeting laid back and easy-going pair, please contact the BC SPCA Nelson Branch at (250)352-7178.

About BC SPCA - Nelson Branch

About Our Shelter...

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/Nelson for all of our current adoption prices, hours of operation, etc.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
