Roxey is a sweet girl, about 2 - 3 years old. She was surrendered by an owner who had too many dogs and was forced by a local Animal Control to relinquish some of them.
In many ways Roxey has a typical Chihuahua personality - very loving, but cautious around strangers at first. She was nervous in her foster home for a few days but soon resumed her sweetheart ways, so we expect her to be the same with her adopters. She's a very devoted girl once she gets to know you.
When she came to us Roxey had a funny walk on her rear legs. Our vet diagnosed luxating patellas in both knees - the knees slip out of place when she walked. She got by fine but we knew without surgery she'd develop painful arthritis in the years ahead. Roxey underwent orthopedic surgery on one knee in September and recovered quickly and spectacularly. Her second surgery will take place soon. The vet expects her to recover just as well the second time. She'll have no restrictions, but will walk and run as normally as any other dog.
We know there's a special home full of love for Roxey - this sweet girl deserves the best!
