Hi! My name is Jake 2. I'm an almost 3 year old male Pocket Boxer. You know what that means? That I'm smaller than the usual Boxer...I only weigh about 40 lbs! And I am a sweet ball of Boxer energy! I love to go on walks. I walk great on a leash, in fact. I also like to play in the yard and being outside. I enjoy playing with toys even and I don't chew on anything that doesn't belong to me.

I am also crate trained! I will willingly go into my crate when shown which one is mine. My crate is my safe place but I can be left uncrated while your gone. You can leave the door open so I can go relax in there while you're out. Even though I like my crate, I really like being able to sleep in the bed with my family. I don't take up much room. I LOVE to cuddle and snuggle, especially under the blankets.
I am a great kisser and snuggler, too. I will even take a nap with you. More snuggling! I like to ride in the car so you can take me along for the ride and I will be a perfect gentleman.

Have I mentioned that I have never had a potty accident in the house?! I'll alert you when I need to go. I'm such a good boy!

I eat dry kibble with some chicken broth and I always eat all my food. I eat a cup and a half twice daily. I even get treats and bones. I love bones! I get a new bone twice a week and chew on them for days.

I get along okay only with submissive older female dogs. I do better with them because I tend to like to think I am the boss. I don't currently live with a cat so I don't really know how I feel about them. Usually, my rescue errs on the side of caution because Boxers can be a little cat crazy. So, a home without a cat is probably best for me.

I am also a really good watch dog. I only bark when strangers come around. You'll know when new folks are coming around, but I will greet welcome guests with all the love a Boxer can give. I like everyone I meet. I like men but love women. I'm a mama's boy, they tell me. I'm also great with children. I've been around kids as young as six and have nothing but happy wiggles for them. You can count on those wiggles and kisses whenever you come home, too!

Hi! This is Jake's foster mom. Jake is a joy to have around. He's a very good companion. He's got the cutest snaggle tooth. He loves to snuggle and cuddle. Jake would do great as an only dog. He has a dominant personality. The day Jake gets adopted will be bittersweet. He will be greatly missed. He's a great dog and will enhance any family. If you are looking for a very loving and extremely loyal dog then Jake 2 is your guy! Please fill out an adoption application with NWBR today at

About Northwest Boxer Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Northwest Boxer Rescue (NWBR) believes that every boxer deserves a chance to live a happy life in a loving home. Abandoned or homeless Boxers will always find shelter, medical care, and ultimately a new home through the efforts of NWBR. By working with committed volunteers and local veterinarians we are able to rescue boxers every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them perfect loving forever homes. Working in conjunction with city and county groups, NWBR strives to educate the public and help end animal overpopulation and needless suffering. The commitment to share the love of Boxers is never ending.

We never discriminate on the basis of health or age. Our animals are evaluated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive any necessary medical treatment before they are placed in carefully screened homes.
