Facts about Amber

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 592
  • Hair: Short
Amber is a beautiful 9 month old dilute tortie - her family gave her up and now she has no home of her own. She purrs and cuddle and lets you rub her tummy. She has the funniest sounds she makes.

She's a little noise sensitive - so a quieter home will be more comfortable for her. She gets along very well with the other foster cats, and she grew up with dogs who she got along with.

About Happy Jack Cats, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Happy Jack Cats, Inc., is a new (11/15) Idaho Non-Profit Corporation. We are a foster-based, cage-free, no-kill rescue and adoption agency. Our kittens are in foster homes throughout the Treasure Valley area, we have no official, store-front location. We need donations, fosters parents, and volunteers.

Happy Jack Cats, Inc., (HJC) was founded in November 2015 by individuals concerned for the welfare of "throwaway" kittens and cats in the Boise and Meridian areas of Idaho. None of the individuals who form the Board of Directors are compensated. HJCI has no employees, but has a strong foster program made up of skilled volunteers in homes through-out the area. To date, all funding for HJCI is out-of-pocket or has come from small donations and re-homing fees.

One of our group has been working to save the lives of kittens for about four years, but as it became known in the community that she was very good at rehoming young kittens, she was flooded with animals; orphaned, abandoned, lost, abused and otherwise unwanted. It was at this point, that she realized that there was a huge need that could not be met by the local humane organizations due to their limited resources.

Because of this, she decided to create an organization to fill the void, recruited two like-minded people to form the board, and Happy Jack Cats, Inc. came into being.

HJC saves kittens from euthanasia that are too young to be adopted or have treatable conditions that would prevent them from being adopted. We take in kittens younger than twelve weeks of age, including bottle babies. At times we receive adult cats, particularly kitten mamas in need of spaying.

Even though our rescues often come from terrible circumstances, once bathed, wormed, spayed/neutered, chipped, and vaccinated are beautiful, loving and very much in demand. Our goal is to place the kittens (and cats) with families that will love and care for them for their lifespans.

Happy Jack Cats, Inc., is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN #47-5455805.
