Meet Emmy Lou. This GORGEOUS yellow lab came in to rescue via  a Maryland breeder. We are not able to disclose more than that right now. She is one of several that have come through MMR. Emmy Lou is 10months old, but extremely underweight. She weighs 35lbs. Emmy background does involve her spending a lot of time in a crate. So any family interested in adopting her must understand she cannot be crated. Emmy Lou enjoys other dogs very much. She also loves laying in the yard, and feeling the sun on her face. This angel is nothing but pure sweetness. Any family that adopts her is getting a gift. She wants nothing but to love and please her person. She is still understanding leash walking, but is house trained. Emmy Lou has to 'fill in'-right now she is so thin it's hard to tell that she is pure breed yellow lab. But what matters most is that she goes to a home that understands how deserving she is of all the love in the world.

My adoption fee is $400, which covers the cost of routine vetting, rabies and distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter surgery, heart worm testing, my microchip, monthly heart worm prevention, monthly flea/tick prevention, and any transport costs if applicable.

If you can't adopt me, consider sponsoring my care and being a rescue angel. Click on the DONATE button below and chip in what you can. Your donation is tax deductible and helps us save more lives!

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster home for a dog in need! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering on our website:

MMR covers the vet care, food, and tools to get started. You supply the love. Fostering saves lives. Sometimes a foster home is the only thing standing between life and death.

About Mutts Matter Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

A Little History... Mutts Matter Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non profit, all volunteer based organization, with combined rescue experience of over 15 years. We work in conjunction with shelters and other organizations to help save animals on death row, the strays on the street, or ones in unsafe living conditions. We adopt in the DC, VA, and MD areas, with a few exception out of the tri-state area depending on the dog and situation. We are driven by love, compassion, and hope.

All of our rescues enter their new home spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, and are micro-chipped. If we take a dog into our rescue, we do our very best to ensure that they are healthy before going to their new “furever”home. With enough hard work and dedication, we hope to be able to empty the shelters one day soon.

Our Adoption Process...

We require you to fill out an adoption application on our website at www.muttsmatterrescue.com
The application will ask for both a vet and personal reference. Both will need to be verified. After those are checked, a pre-screener contacts you to discuss your application.
Once that is complete, they screener decides if they are recommended for a home visit. If the home visit goes well and they are approved to adopt, then they can meet the dog.
Our adoption fee includes the cost of routine vetting, spay/neuter, and microchipping.
