Nola is a 7 week old Lab/Heeler mix female who currently weighs 7.8 pounds. Her mother is a gorgeous Blue Heeler, but all of the puppies look mostly Lab, apparently from their dad’s side. Nola has lots of gorgeous blue ticking on her chest, neck, and toes. She is one of the friendliest and loving of the litter, but Nola has this special quality about her. Not only does she act and look very feminine, but she looks at you with a very focused and attentive look, as if she’s waiting for you to tell her what to do. And usually that means, pick her up and cuddle her.  She is one of the smallest of the litter and will probably be closer to her mother’s size than that of a Lab. Nola was born here in our rescue and has gotten the very best of care since Day 1. She has been raised in the house along with her siblings, other adult dogs, and has been exposed to all of the regular household noises including loud TV from Dallas Cowboys football and a bizarre presidential election season, so she’s ready for anything. When she hears a vacuum cleaner running, instead of running away, she runs towards it to investigate. She loves to be held and handled and doesn’t mind having her nails trimmed, and she goes into a coma when you start scratching her tummy. We are doing everything possible to make Nola and her siblings very well socialized and easy to handle so they will grow up to be the most stable, well balanced dogs possible. We already know they are smart—they pick up on new routines instantaneously as with their crate training, beginning house training, and running out of their kennel into the kitchen for their meals. Nola has had a perfect start and is ready for her new family to take over and help her become the great dog she is meant to be. Nola has received 3 dewormings, all age-appropriate vaccinations, is microchipped, and will be started on flea and heartworm prevention before adoption. She is available for a $250 adoption donation on a Spay Contract that requires her adopter has her spayed by 7 months of age.

About Twisted Branch Aussie Ranch

About Our Rescue Group...

With few exceptions, we do not use foster homes. Most of the dogs in our rescue live here in the home with us as members of our family, and they sleep and eat indoors and have free run of the yard during the day. We feel that this is the best way for us to prepare these dogs for adoption and life with their new families, to teach them house manners and basic obedience training, and to get to fully know them so that we can make a proper placement.

Our Adoption Process...

Please keep in mind that we are not a shelter where you can visit dogs and go home with one that day. We are a home and family first, and a rescue secondly, and in order to maintain a family environment for the dogs, we are only able to offer visits after we have an approved adoption application from you. We put a great deal of effort into every dog that we rescue, sometimes driving several hours to rescue them and then spending a huge amount of time caring for them physically, training them, socializing them with other dogs, and teaching them house manners. We bring these dogs into our home, into our family, and in some cases, into our bed to sleep with us. They are our family, and we care deeply about every dog that comes into our rescue. For this reason, we are very particular about where our dogs go. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-serve basis, but instead adopt to the family who is the best match for that particular dog.

Adoption Requirements and Procedure:

*We must have a reviewed, approved Adoption Application from you before scheduling a visit with the dogs.
*You must have a securely fenced yard for your adopted dog. We do not adopt dogs to homes where they would be allowed to roam free on acreage. This is for the safety of the dog.
*Due to health concerns for young puppies, puppies under the age of 4 months can’t be adopted to apartment homes where they would be exposed to other dogs. Puppies underage for spay/neuter are only available for local adoption.
*You must be able to travel here to meet and adopt your new dog. We do not ship dogs, and we want the opportunity to meet you in person before trusting you with one of our babies.
*You must be patient with us! Once we receive your application, we will need time to review it, check references, and conduct a home visit to ensure that you can provide a safe environment for your new dog. The whole process could take as much as two weeks. Please keep this in mind when you apply, as you will not be able to apply and adopt the same day.
