Sergei originally joined us here on the Sunshine Coast from the Kamloops BC SPCA through the BC SPCA Drive For Lives program. Sergei had a deep bone infection that needed urgent treatment. Sergei, who recently completed a fundraising target of over $2,000, stayed in foster care throughout his treatment and recovery. Now as good as new, Sergei is in search of his forever home! Sergei's very debonair and is always up to greet new people. After playing host he's a pretty laid back guy who is a big cuddler, preferring to jump up onto your shoulders or climb into your lap. Although a little unsure at first, Sergei has warmed up to other cats while in our care, but certainly prefers to be the center of attention. Contact us at the Sunshine Coast BC SPCA at 604.740.0301 or sunshinecoast@spca.bc.ca for more information, or come meet our pal Sergei!

About BC SPCA - Sunshine Coast Branch

About Our Shelter...

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/sunshinecoast for all of our current adoption prices, hours of operation, etc.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
