Gypsy's Story...
If you like big dogs, you will love Gypsy! She's only a year old and has been bounced around a few times already. We do know a few things about her. Gypsy is a playful Border Collie/Greyhound mix. She is a happy go lucky girl that loves everyone she meets. Sometimes she can be overwhelming and doesn't realize how big she is, therefore older kids are recommended. Gypsy is house trained and crate trained, if you can find one big enough for her. She has lived with cats and is very playful with them. She's never lived with dogs but they don't seem to bother her. This gal has boundless energy! Maggie would love to settle down in a stable forever home for the holidays. Can you make her wish come true? Gypsy recently injured her paw while playing in the fenced in area outside the shelter. Please call before visiting to make sure she's available. The number is 440-322-4321.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gypsy, a Elyria Border Collie/Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Greyhound for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Border Collie/Greyhound dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Greyhound breeders who help with Border Collie/Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
