Ho, ho, ho....Remy here. I'm the one in the Christmas tree hat. So let me tell you how my life has changed over the past few weeks. I had been hanging around a home in rural Mississippi for a while now, there were kids there who occasionally played with us, my friend had puppies, we thought things were ok. But as it turns out, spending your time dodging traffic and not really "belonging" is not a good life plan. The people with the kids got in touch with a rescue and one thing lead to the next - me, my friend, her puppies were all on our way to foster homes. We were happy to go, just knew when that car pulled up and the lady said "come on girls" that life was going to change for the better...and it has. Which is where I am now...a much better life...though I could do without the hat, but my foster momma is as sweet as pie, so I'll entertain her for now.

I am looking for my forever home, one where I can finally belong for good. I am just about12 months old, a girl, I like kids, I like dogs, I am kennel trained....hmmmm.....oh and I have a nubby tail. Not sure where I got that - but rather than a long lab tail, mine is a little nub - people tell me it's adorable, and my bottom wiggles when I wag....but my wag doesn't knock stuff I guess it's a good thing.

My adoption fee will include my spay surgery, up to date vaccinations, microchip, health certificate and transportation from my foster home in Memphis to your area upon adoption. I sure would love to be in my forever home for the holidays, but will patiently wait until the right person comes that person you?

About Our Rescue Group...

Wilson Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue group in Memphis, Tennessee. We focus on rescuing dogs who are in danger of being euthanized at the city's run shelter and other midsouth shelters. We strive to place dogs in loving homes not only locally but in cities in the Midwest and New England areas. There simply aren't enough people adopting in the Memphis area to keep up with the amount of adoptable dogs who find themselves homeless.

For Example- In July 2015 Memphis Animal Services(city run animal control facility) took in 753 dogs. 191 were surrendered by their owners and 428 were brought in as strays either by animal control or by citizens. Of those strays 39 were returned to their owners. That was a good month for reclaims, typically only 5% of strays are returned to their owners. Of the 6,212 animals MAS has taken in through July of this year, 315 have been reclaimed. 336 dogs are euthanized in the month of July 2015, bringing the total of euthanized so far this year to 2228.

These numbers are from just ONE animal control facility. These numbers are why it has become our passion to help save these precious lives. To represent the underdog, to prove that rescues are just as loving and deserving as purebred dogs.
