**Maggie May is currently being fostered in Houston. Her adoption will be out-of-state, which means, unfortunately, meeting her prior to her adoption will not be possible. Her adoption donation is $500USD, which covers her flight, a new kennel, and of course she is fully vetted. Because flights are so expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable.**

Our beautiful Maggie was found all alone in a park. We don’t know how she got there, but it seemed like she was waiting for someone to come back for her. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for dogs in Houston to be dumped in parks. After being there for a few days alone, and approaching many people for help, she finally came upon a Guardian Angel told her to hop in the car and she was whisked to the safety of her foster home.

Maggie is a roughly 2-3 year old Stafforshire / Plott Hound mix. She is just under 40 pounds and fully grown. She has the most stunning brindle coat and the best ears. Maggie is a great size dog for any living situation.

Maggie is currently being fostered in a home with other dogs, small and large, and she gets along well with all of them. She hasn’t met any cats yet, so we are not sure how she would do with a kitty sibling.

Maggie is an active breed mix, so she will be best suited for an active family who is committed to getting her proper exercise and socialization. Maggie will be a great match for anyone who loves to run, hike, or camp and then snuggle at the end of the day. Maggie should be adopted by a family who plans to keep her as an inside dog and not planning to leave her alone unattended for extend periods of time outdoors (for example the entire work day).

Maggie is kennel trained and has done very well with her house training, but her new family should understand that dogs can take a few weeks to acclimate to their new homes and environments. This may include having accidents, crying in her kennel, and getting into things she shouldn't. Maggie should be adopted by a family who is willing to give her the time she needs to acclimate and use positive reinforcement during the process.

Maggie is fully vetted (spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated) and has no known health or allergy issues.

About Reggie's Friends - Baltimore

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on street dogs and shelter cases that other rescues may not have the resources for. We live and love by our motto Street Life To Sweet Life.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application that can be found on our website at www.reggiesfriends.org under the Adoptables tab. Our team will then review the application, contact references, perform a vet-check, and request photos of the common areas of the house and yard that serve in lieu of a home visit. Following the completion of the application, we set up video chats either through Skype or Facetime between the foster and adoptive families.

Our adoption fee is $500, which includes the cost of transport and any relevant vet care appropriate to their age.

Guidelines to our basic adoption procedures can be found on our website under the adoptables tab.
