Trooper (Combo'd/Neutered)'s Story...
"Trooper" is a cute 6-month old male gray tabby kitten who was brought to the HSOV on November 22, 2016 after he was found near the Marietta Middle School in Marietta Ohio. This little boy was desperately in need of medical attention when he arrived, so he was immediately taken to one of our wonderful local veterinarians. Trooper's whiskers were burnt/singed, and he had an abscess under his jaw. He is back in our shelter now and recuperating nicely thanks to the extra TLC from our HSOV kennel techs. "Trooper" was given antibiotics and Revolution Flea Treatment on November 22, 2016. He was given vaccinations and wormer on November 23rd. "Trooper" has been neutered, and he has also been combo tested (negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm). He has the sweetest disposition and loves to be loved. "Trooper" will be available for adoption in the near future. Incidentally, we've discovered that "Trooper" is terrified of dogs, so we are suggesting that he would likely be happier in a home that he didn't have to share with canine friends.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trooper (Combo'd/Neutered), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
