Ready for adoption!
When Kruger arrived at his foster's house in December, he was an anxious boy who seemed to be quite unsure of himself. He was not comfortable in a crate, and would show quite a bit of anxiety when being left alone. Who could blame him? He was left tied outside 24-7 for the first 5 years of his life and then had a 10 hour ride to get him into a house setting with his foster family, and when he got there he had to deal with a giant slobbery Great Dane who called him brother. It was quite confusing for the poor guy.
Well – Kruger has proved to be true darling and he is showing more of his true colours every single day. He loves his crate now - he will actually put himself to bed in it when his foster mom stays awake past his bedtime. He no longer howls when his foster mom leaves the house - he knows that she will be back (she promises every time) and he patiently waits. His housetraining is going very well - and he sits, gets down, and stays on command. Kruger walks well on-leash, and is great at his recall.
He recently experienced the dog park with his sister Lyra, and he had a BLAST! He won over every dog there with his charming good looks and playful personality. And even with all the distractions, he would very regularly run back to his foster mom to make sure she was still there and watching him! He's incredible. Kruger LOVES everyone he meets. He's trying to catch up on 5 years of lost cuddle time and will snuggle up and flop over for a belly rub every chance he gets.
He's also great with cats! He's actually been caught a few times playing with and grooming his feline brother Milo!!! Milo wishes he was a dog. Kruger will make a wonderful addition to anyone looking for an amazing hound to add to their lives. This boy aims to please - you can see it in his eyes. Kruger is 5yrs old, neutered and up to date with his vaccines.
Please Note: We are all volunteers and busy taking care of our foster dogs so please take the time to fill out our on-line adoption application if you are interested in more information about any of the hounds that we have for adoption. Filling out our application does not obligate you to adopt in any way. It does, however, help us to determine if the dog that your interested in would be a good match for your family and lifestyle.
