Chico's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Chico's Story...
Chico is a 7 yr old male Shih Tzu and weighs 11 lbs. He came from a home where he was neglected because the owner decided he didn't want to care for him anymore. No one seem to have time for this little guy and he was just pretty much tethered outside when the weather was nice and kind of forgotten. When he came into rescue he was in dire need of a groom and as you can tell he was a diamond in the rough. His before and after pictures show that. Chico was not trusting at first but within a couple of days he became very trusting and is very affectionate. He gets along with other dogs, but NOT good with cats. Because we don't really know his history with children we won't place Chico with young kids.
He needs support with his house training but has improved the short time that he's been in foster care.
His true personality has not yet been revealed but he has begun to cuddle and loves when you call his name. Chico loves attention and a warm lap.
Chico is being fostered in Scarborough.
Chico was neutered and recently had his broken dew claws removed. He is up to date on his vaccines and ready for his new home.

Adoption fee is $350
To apply for Chico go to to submit an application.

**applicants must be in a 2 hr driving range from Toronto/Niagara area as we do home visits ourselves with our dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chico, a Mississauga Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Mississauga, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Mississauga.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mississauga already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mississauga breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mississauga paves the way for another one to be saved.
