Introducing Brienne.

We see a lot of puppies at local shelters, and each of them have their own unique way of handling being in the sheltering environment. Some puppies run straight to the kennel door, tails wagging, tongues hanging out, as if they have no idea of where they are. Then there are dogs that cower in the background. They are terrified and you can feel their shut down desire to just disappear as they fly their little flag that says "please walk on by, and pay me no attention. ".

And then, there are dogs like Brienne. She was the perfect and appropriate behavior we like to see in a dog in a scary environment. She sat in the back of her kennel with her siblings, happy that we were paying her attention, but painfully aware that her loud and scary surroundings were not where she wanted to be. We love to see a dog with some common sense like Brienne had. Sensitive but not shut down....perceptive puppy.

Brienne is currently in a foster home with other dogs, and is kid friendly. We think that this pup would make a wonderful addition to a family. She likes to romp and play and has lots of love to give. Brienne’s adoption fee is $500 and will include her microchip, spay surgery, vaccinations, deworming, health certificate, and transportation Memphis to your area.

About Wilson Animal Rescue -Eden Prairie Transport Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Wilson Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, foster-based rescue group in Memphis, Tennessee. We focus on rescuing dogs who are in danger of being euthanized at the city's run shelter and other midsouth shelters. We strive to place dogs in loving homes not only locally but in cities in the Midwest and New England areas. There simply aren't enough people adopting in the Memphis area to keep up with the amount of adoptable dogs who find themselves homeless.

We keep in touch with our adopters - and not everyone who applies for a dog gets one. We say no as much as we say yes. We are looking for people who feel the same way about their dogs as we do - that they are family and bringing one into your home is a major commitment.

We also appreciate it takes a tremendous amount of trust to adopt a dog before meeting - trust on behalf of the adopter and trust from our fosters. They have to trust that we are sending the dog, who they have loved, to a wonderful new home. This trust is ever present in our minds and not something we take lightly, so we are happy to answer adopter’s questions. Please do, however remember that we are 100% volunteer run - we have jobs and families and we do our very best to respond as quickly as we can to all inquiries and follow up questions.

We have two vets we use primarily - Cloverleaf Animal Clinic and Walnut Grove Animal Clinic - they are both located in Memphis. Please feel free to call either of their clinics if you are interested in a reference for our rescue.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are fostered in the Memphis area. We are happy for you to come to Memphis and meet any of the dogs we have available. We are unable to send dogs outside of the Memphis area prior to adoptions.

Our Adoption Process...

All of our dogs are located in foster homes in the Memphis area. Once we have an approved adopter, we like to put adopters and fosters in contact so that adopters can ask questions about the dog, it's routine, temperament, etc. We are really looking for best fit for adopter and dog. Once its decided that an adoption is a go, we arrange transportation from Memphis to your area.

All of our dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, have a minimum of two sets of puppy shots (including bordatella, rabies for dogs over 12 weeks), are microchipped and must have a health certificate exam prior to travel. The adoption fee includes everything - all prior vetting, health certificate and transportation from Memphis to your area.

Please let us know if you have any questions, or would like an adoption application.
