Mercy's Story...
Some dogs stop you dead in your tracks with their demeanor. Mercy is that dog. She was alone at the city's shelter - terrified (which is understandable), and hiding behind her bed. You could easily walk past her kennel and never even see her, but we saw a card hanging outside her kennel and stopped to look. What we saw looking back at us was a sweet, shy pup and "mercy me" we knew we had to take her. This is where her name came from - Mercy me. Her foster got her home and saw exactly what we had hoped, a dog warming up outside of the scary shelter environment. She began, of all things, to mother other smaller foster puppies in her home. She is a sweetheart and know sky's the limit for this incredibly dog. Mercy's adoption fee includes her spay surgery, microchip, all up to date vaccinations, deworming and heart worm preventative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mercy, a Memphis Whippet/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Whippet/Labrador Retriever for sale in Memphis, or seeking a Whippet/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Memphis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Memphis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Memphis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Whippet/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Whippet/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Memphis paves the way for another one to be saved.
