Minnie's Story...
Minnie and her family moved in with a friend back in June, but after 2 weeks, the family left and left Minnie behind. The friend took care of Minnie for two months, but could no longer afford her and since she never heard from Minnie's owner, she had to bring Minnie to the Shelter with hopes of her finding a FOREVER home. She reported that Minnie was a very good dog with her kids and cats. She's pretty much housetrained and definitely crate trained. Minnie is almost two years old now. She walks well on leash and seems to know what "sit" means. Minnie would make a great family member, so come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City, take her for a walk, get to know her. You'll see that she's as sweet as she is pretty.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Minnie, a Elizabeth City American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
