Big Jake's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with cats.

Big Jake's Story...
My name is Big Jake and I’m a friendly grey boy who needs a forever home. I’m not only an affable guy, I’m also probably the most vocal cat you’ll ever meet. I peacefully coexist with the other cats in my foster home and I love to play with pole-string toys. With humans, I prefer the companionship of females, although I like curling up next to my foster dad. If you want a devoted cat to greet you at the door, I’m the guy for you.

I’ve been
– neutered
– evaluated as generally healthy by our vet
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper
– combo-tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

My adopter will receive my medical records.

The world does not beat a path to adopt nine-year-old cats, so my adoption fee has been reduced to only $50, which goes to my care and that of the other cats in the organization.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to me and provide me a safe, loving home for the rest of his life, then please email my foster dad at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Big Jake, a Medford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Medford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Medford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Medford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Medford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Medford paves the way for another one to be saved.
