Randall's Story...
Hi my name is Randall and the vet says I'm about 3 years old. My name is Randall because I was rescued walking into a Randall's grocery store by myself! I was looking for the dog food aisle! ;) I'm a very smart dog! I'm so smart that I can quickly and easily unlock a dog crate and run right out - so I absolutely positively cannot be crated but that's okay because I don't chew on anything other than dog toys and I'm fully house trained.

I'm indifferent to cats, good with kids of all ages, and I like dogs but I don't necessarily want to play and roughhouse with them. My favorite thing is playing fetch! I love tennis balls so much that some times I literally sleep with several of them! I actually like other balls too; if it rolls I'll chase it!

My foster family says I'm super loving and snugly and I'm pretty mellow the majority of the time. I'm quiet - you'll rarely hear a peep out of me because I'm not a big barker. I'm shy and nervous when I first meet new people so my ideal forever family will have to be very patient with me while you wait for me to warm up. And because I'm nervous in new environments there is a chance I'll try to sneak out of your house and run away. My legs are short but don't let that fool you; I'm super fast! My ideal forever family will have to be extremely careful to make sure I don't slip out before I get comfortable in their home...this means I need a forever family that has seasoned dog owners. Not to worry though I promise my shyness and nervousness is temporary!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Randall, a Houston Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Houston, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
