Macy's Story...
Macy was one of four cats surrendered to DHA on black Friday. Macy is a gorgeous long-haired black cat. She is a very sweet and friendly girl. She has soft fur and enjoys being pet. Macy is fun to watch as she prances on her soft paws. She arrived with Dillard, Boscov and Target and gets along very well with them. They are all very outgoing and the younger two (Boscov and Target) find comfort in the company of the others, but they do not need to be adopted together. While we know they are good with other cats, we are not yet sure how they are with dogs or kids. Hopefully their stay with us will be short and they'll be in a new home for the new year.

Macy is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Macy, a Wilmington Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
