'Rojo is a wonderful 9-month-old (as of Nov) Red Heeler mix. She was rescued from a kill shelter in San Antonio, and driven back to California in late June of this year. She is quick as a whip - super smart, eager to please and loving.
Rojo is super smart, potty trained easily, know more than basic commands and can let herself out the back door to go potty. She is a loving and loyal girl to her family and as Heeler enthusiasts know, affectionate once she gets to know you.
Rojo is energetic but not over the top for her age and breed, Playful but loves her naps. Rojo hasn't decided that she is a dog park dog. She would rather be with people so she asks to be the only dog.
She prefers women but will eagerly take treats from men. Needs more time with men and their treats we think!
Rojo started life on the streets of San Antonio and we assume life was difficult, she has been working with a trainer and has made lots of progress. Our dream home for Roja is a more rural environment where she can run and enjoy a quieter life of trees and nature. City life isn't giving her what she needs.
Rojo has been spayed and is current on all of her medical needs. We are happy to arrange transportation for prospective adopters. Questions are welcome, we are willing to offer any information needed by prospective adopters to help ensure she has a happy, loving, and safe forever home.
Rojo does NOT attend the adoption events but arrangements may be made for a meet and greet.
