Jazz, and her fur-brother Boots, were surrendered to a local kill-shelter after their owner suffered a heart attack and had to move into an apartment that didn't allow pets. Jazz and Boots have been together their whole lives, since puppyhood, and have lived with both cats and rabbits (although Boots seems to like to chase new cats).
Jazz is a 7 year old Labrador Mix, around 75 pounds. She is the more dominant of the duo, and would prefer a home where she is either the only dog, or is adopted together with her buddy, Boots. She can get along with other dogs if introduced slowly (she is the boss). She is completely house trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash. She loves attention and belly rubs, and has done fine with kids in her past. She knows her basic commands, such as sit, down, speak, stay, and wait. Jazz and Boots both had hair loss from flea allergies upon entering rescue, but they received the care they needed to get that under control. She had a small fatty tumor removed from her back after coming into rescue, but it was nothing to be concerned about.
Boots is a 5 year old American Staffordshire Mix, around 65 pounds. Boots may look tough, but he is really just a big marshmallow. He is a cuddle buddy, and very passive. He only wants love and couch time, and companionship. He enjoys the company of other dogs. He is completely house trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash. He has done fine with kids in his past owner's life. He knows basic commands, such as sit, down, speak, stay, and wait.
Both dogs are heartworm negative, spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccine, UTD on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, and will be microchipped prior to adoption. Vet references, personal references, and home visits may be required prior to adoption. The COMBINED ADOPTION FEE for both dogs is $400, which includes vetting and transport to the New England area.
