Poor Sage has had a rough time. Her former family must have included a man who mistreated her, she is wary of men now. She was dumped in a high kill animal control in the middle of no where and was lucky enough to have a volunteer find her a placement in a humane society in another state. Poor girl was adopted right away without giving her any time to adjust and she was not happy with the men in her new home and was returned. The humane society decided to kill her then and we were alerted to this baby and arranged for her to come to us instead. She is just the sweetest dog! She loves women and dogs, is quiet in a crate, great on a leash, house trained and super snuggly and affectionate. She is working on some behaviors currently including resource guarding (food, toys, treats, her crate etc). This breed is known for being wonderful with children, and very bonded to their humans. This is the likely reason for her resource guarding; she has lost her family and all she has left is her stuff. We hope to resolve these issues prior to adoption but if not, she will need to be placed in an experienced home regarding resource guarding. She is being fostered in Illinois and is worth the effort! She is only 8 months old, just a baby really and we have great hope that she will turn around in a stable foster home. Her adoption fee is $275 and she is fully vetted. www.arrowdogrescue.org/application if you would like to meet her.
