Kayla's Story...
Kayla is a sweet, affectionate, 45 pound black lab who wound up on death row in the shelter when she was pregnant. As Hurricane Matthew approached Jacksonville, Florida Urgent Rescue (FUR) saved her, and she had her puppies in a foster home while the hurricane passed through. Her puppies are now 7 weeks old and almost ready to go home, and Kayla is looking forward to having a furever home of her own.

She's great with other dogs and kids. She's living in a foster home with other dogs and kids, and she gets along great with everyone. She is a sweet, happy, affectionate dog who would be a great addition to any family looking for their new best friend. She will be spayed as part of our vetting process.

We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kayla, a Jacksonville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
