Lassie is ready for some new adventures! Lassie is a young dog, only a little over a year old.. and she certainly has some puppy left in her! She loves to chase tennis balls and jumps in the air!

If you saw Lassie playing, you would NEVER guess her history. Lassie came to us after being hit by a car, and left by her former owners at an emergency animal hospital to be euthanized. The caring staff wanted to save her, so asked us for help! She had some horrible gashes, road rash, and injuries to her foot and tail. The tail injury required a partial amputation.

Does that make you feel bad for Lassie? DON'T! Lassie doesn't feel bad. Lassie is a HAPPY GIRL. She's fun, quirky, and has a zest for life, now that she has been given a second chance! She's getting in all the tummy rubs and hugs and kisses she can at her foster home.

Lassie's foster mama reports that her favorite things about Lassie is the very sweet way she plays, and that she gives hugs! Lassie also loves snuggling in bed with her foster mama. She sleeps in a crate right now, but on Lassie's wish list for her forever home she's hoping maybe (just maybe) she can get to sleep in bed with her new humans!

Lassie is about 45 lbs and about 14 mos old. She came from a home with other pets, although due to her accident and recovery we have been slow in introducing her to others. We can't wait to find her a home where she can finish blossoming into the happy dog we are seeing!

Adoption fee is $175 and includes DHPP & rabies vaccinations, heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. Please fill out our application at if you are interested in meeting or adopting this dog and we will be in touch right away!

About Good Karma Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Good Karma Pet Rescue is a small network of foster homes in South Florida dedicated to providing dogs and cats in need with the love and help they need and deserve.

GK was started in 2011 by Stacey Chen, who decided that she could best provide for her foster animals by starting a rescue that aims for best care rather than high volume. We intend to stay as small as we need to be to ensure that every one of our foster animals is treated with the same care and respect we show our own furry family.

GK is based in Fort Lauderdale and is supported by wonderful, dedicated foster parents throughout the South Florida area. If you are interested in helping to save lives through volunteering, fostering, or adopting, please get in touch with us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We meet potential adopters by appointment only, typically in the foster's or potential adopter's home. Dogs can be arranged to be seen at a local park or a similar location.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a quick but thorough adoption process. We ask you to fill out an application and we will touch base with you by phone. If we feel you are a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt based upon your application, we will want to do a home visit and have you meet the pet. If everything checks out, we will ask that you sign an adoption contract and pay a donation - usually $75 for cats and $150 for dogs. This includes all vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.

Our contract allows us to come visit you and your new family member after the adoption to make sure everything is going well and your new pet is happy & healthy.
