Hello my name is Patches. I am about 2-3 years old and 8lbs full of energy! I am extremely shy at first and I ask that you go very slow with me until I get know and trust you. Although, I do very well with other small dogs and cats, I would prefer to be the only dog in order to get all your attention and give you all my love. Presently, I am heartworm positive, but I have received my 2 treatment injections and I should be heartworm free soon. Therefore, you can still adopt me, but you'll need to keep me calm for a set period of time and to be truthful that is not too difficult, since I love my kennel. I am up to date on all my vaccines and preventatives.
I am currently located at San Antonio Pets Alive!, and I am in a foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of the additional dog who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care.
If you would like to meet me, please contact my foster parents at email@example.com or San Antonio Pets Alive adoption team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include my ID# (A394135) and your contact information and any questions.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
