Antonia's Story...
Hi, my name is Antonia. I have lived the past year of my life in rural Mississippi, occasionally being let in by the family who had me, but mostly I was left, with my friend Remy, to roam. I had puppies two months ago and sadly the family began giving them away for "free to good homes". The folks at Wilson Animal Rescue heard about it and contacted the family. They urged them not to give them away, and then said they would come get me, my puppies and my friend Remy. The people with the kids got in touch with a rescue and one thing lead to the next - me, my friend, my puppies were all on our way to foster homes. We were happy to go, just knew when that car pulled up and the lady said "come on girls" that life was going to change for the better...and it has. Which is where I am now...a much better life, living with a very sweet foster dad who takes excellent care of me and is teaching me sit, stay, and is kennel training me.

I am looking for my forever home, one where I can finally belong for good. I am about 1 years old, good with kids and other dogs. My adoption fee is $500 and will include my spay surgery, up to date vaccinations, microchip, health certificate and transportation from my foster home in Memphis to your area upon adoption. I sure would love to be in my forever home for the holidays, but will patiently wait until the right person comes that person you?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Antonia, a Chicago Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
