Hi there; I'm Dallas! I am a mature gentleman with amazing skills, despite my limited vison and hearing. In fact, if my loving owner hadn't passed away a few months back, I wouldn't need any help at all! My foster mom is amazed at my leash walking ability, as well as my having learned to use the doggie door within about 5 minutes. I also have figured out how to negotiate the stairs to the backyard, so I'm pretty self sufficient, once I figure out my surroundings. I love other dogs, and would love to go to a home with another dog who wouldn't mind me accidentally bumping into them on occasion. In fact, I think having another dog around makes everything easier for me! I might take a little bit to warm up to you, but within a few days of spending time together, we will be fast friends! I should do great with a cat, as I don't go looking for trouble. A home with older children would be ideal, as it frightens me to be grabbed at. I can be prone to the occasional accident, especially in unfamiliar surroundings, but I am happy to wear a belly band at night, so I don't wake you up! In fact, I come with my own- they are camo and make me look really cool, I think! I'd love to have a home to call my own again! We are a small rescue located primarily in the Denver area, working to provide homes (foster, forever, sanctuary, etc) for senior dogs in need. We accept adoptable dogs, terminal dogs, and special needs dogs over the age of eight (no dog is too old or too "un-adoptable" for our program). While we pull dogs from all over the country, we prioritize those who are in Colorado, or bordering states. We do not accept owner surrenders into our rescue, in order to leave room for shelter dogs at risk of euthanasia, but are sometimes able to assist in the re-homing process.
