Bailey is a shining example of the resiliency of dogs. He is a sweet, friendly, affectionate, and happy-go-lucky boy who doesn’t let bad circumstances dictate how he lives his life. Bailey was found as a stray who wandered across the path of one of our rescue partners in Mexico. He had a very tight collar on made of chain and electrical pipe wrapped around his neck, with even more chain dragging out behind him. It was quickly discovered that he was also deaf and missing some teeth. Despite the hand he was dealt, Bailey is one of the sweetest and most loving dogs you’ll ever meet. He is fantastic with other dogs, cats, adults and kids alike. We’ve seen him meet and dote on young children, enjoying pets and hugs from them, and being very gentle all the while. Bailey is a true mutt, and we suspect he’s got some Boxer in him as his whole backside wiggles nonstop when greeting people. Sometimes he won’t realize when it’s time to rotate play groups (as he can’t hear when we call his friends in), and we’d come out to find him contentedly chewing on a toy. We’d catch his attention by waving at him, and he would bound up in greeting, tail wagging, and trot happily back inside with you. Bailey is very playful with his buddies, and loves being in the company of people. He is a smart boy who knows the hand commands for sit and lie down. By all volunteer accounts, Bailey is a joy to have around. Bailey is about 3 and a half years old as of January 2017, and he is a great medium size of 45 pounds. Give this wonderful boy a chance and you won’t regret it!
