Chelsea is a beautiful, active, petite 10-month old female field ES. She was rescued from a backyard breeding situation, and is adapting well to her new environment in her temp foster home in Ft. Worth, TX. She likes people and is fine with children over 9, but has not been around younger kids. She is probably too high energy and not a match for homes with small kids where toys are accessible to chew. Chelsea is a confident dog, but doesn’t like loud engines. She was rescued with SWESR Sally and we think they look like they could be sisters. Chelsea weighs 30 lbs and is a “pocket setter”.

Chelsea is very active and very birdy. She needs a forever home with a Setter background that understands the needs of a high energy, high prey-drive dog and has training experience. She is still in the puppy antics stage, and everything looks like something fun to explore and chew. She loves to play with toys and balls.

Chelsea likes other dogs and wants to play, and would do best in a home with another dog to play with. She needs lots of exercise, with a large secure yard with a physical fence to run in daily. Typical of all young ES, Chelsea would love to have a person that can walk/jog with her a couple of miles a day. She is very curious, and runs around smelling everything and is always self-exercising and birding when outside. She has not been tested with cats yet, but several other dogs from the same backyard breeder have tested ok with cats so there is a possibility she is alright with them.

Chelsea is on the soft side, and is very sweet, and loves to cuddle. She wants furniture privileges so she can be next to you when inside. She is a quick learner, and will benefit from positive reinforcement training. She knows the commands ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘no’, and is working on ‘sit’. She is not a candidate for someone who wants to hunt.

She is crate trained, housetrained, spayed, micro-chipped, current on vaccines, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. Are you the active family Chelsea has asked Santa to find for her?
