Hi, my name is Ivan.

I am a Siamese-mix kitty with seal point coloring and blue eyes. I am playful, friendly, and gorgeous. However, I will need a special furever family. I have been diagnosed with feline herpes, and I will need monthly eye drops which cost about $30. It's possible that I will have a more frequent need for vet checkups (at least twice a year) and higher vet expenses than another pet, and a potential adopter will need to be prepared for that. An opthomologic specialist has examined my right eye, and although it isn't believed to be a problem at this time, no one can say for sure that it won't be in the future. I should not be in a home with more than 1 other cat, and not with an elderly cat or a cat with immune-system issues. A potential adopter will be interviewed thoroughly by our shelter personnel, must provide consistent vet records for other pets, and must be ok with the shelter checking on my progress periodically, because they care a lot about me and want the best situation for me. A reduced adoption fee does not apply to me, but if you can give me the care I need, I am totally worth it! I am tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Please come visit me.

Shelter hours for visitation are Thursdays 11:00 am - 2:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am - 2:00 pm . The shelter is closed for Holidays.

About Hancock County Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Hancock County Humane Society is a no-kill*, non-profit animal shelter. (We are not affiliated with, nor do we receive financial support from, the Humane Society of the United States.) This shelter has been in existence for many years and has always been staffed entirely by volunteers and funded entirely on donations from the local community. It is our goal to find permanent safe and loving homes for the pets in our care. We would also like to promote community education and awareness, including the importance of early spay/neuter of a pet and the importance of a pet wearing I.D.

*No-kill meaning healthy pets with good temperaments are kept until adopted no matter how many years it may take. We diligently attempt to treat unhealthy pets whenever possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is open for visitors on Thursdays 11am-2pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm. We encourage you to come in and spend as much time as you like visiting with the pets to find one who makes a good match for you!
