Facts about Poseidon

  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 16C109
  • Hair: Short
Poor Poseidon found himself living in a cage at the shelter in mid-November. He has now seen the vet, and though he's vet-estimated to be 5 to 7 years old, he really has the personality of a sweet old soul. He prefers to lounge and nap, when he's not being cuddled by his volunteer friends. He is fond of a nice warm lap, too! He behaves well with the other cats, but doesn't really mingle with them too much. He just strolls around a bit when let out of his cage, and then hops up on the comfy chair to stretch, roll around, and nap. Though he is very sweet with all he meets, he would probably do better in a home children who don't expect a highly active cat to play with, but rather one who will just soak up their love. Poseidon tested very well with the shelter's dogs -- he showed absolutely no fear or stress with them, just threw a little hiss their way to let them know he would defend himself if need be, but was also very content to just sit there with the dogs he met. So as long as your dog is accustomed to living with cats, Poseidon should be fine living with a dog.

Poseidon is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). About Scituate RI Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

THE SCITUATE ANIMAL SHELTER is a municipal facility under the supervision of Scituate Animal Control, a division of the Scituate, Rhode Island Police Department. We take in animals from Scituate and Foster and provide care until we can find good homes for them. We also socialize all cats and dogs who need such work in order to be ready for life in a home and with a family. The shelter staff and the volunteers will go to great lengths to find homes for all animals that we have at the shelter. Vet references are required for all potential adopters and decisions are made by our Animal Control Officers.
