This handsome boy is Jack. Jack is currently living at Catoctin Veterinary Clinic, where he was surrendered by his owners when their apartment complex demanded that either Jack go, or the whole family was no longer welcome.

Jack is 7 years old, neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventative. He is a happy, well mannered pup who adores people! He knows some basic commands and is pretty good on a leash, though he's a little rusty and sometimes needs to be reminded not to pull.  He likes cats a little too much, and while he is able to be friends with other dogs, he prefers that they be neutered and not invade his space. For these reasons, the vet and staff would like to see him in a home without other pets.

The doctors and staff at Catoctin Vet Clinic are all smitten with Jack, and they are hoping to find him a home quickly. He's very lonely living in their kennel. They give him as much attention as they can, but it's not the same as having a dedicated family that he can snuggle with every night.

If you're interested in meeting Jack, please call the clinic at 703-777-8447 and ask for Jenni!

APBA wants to be sure that all of our matches are the best they can possibly be. For this reason, each adoption has a 14 day no-fault return policy. If you discover that the dog you've adopted is not the best fit for your family, you may return him or her to us and we will return your payment to you. If at any time after the initial two weeks you find that you are no longer able to keep your dog, you will have the option to place him or her in a new home of your choosing, and we will follow up with a new adoption contract. If you have not chosen an adopter for your dog, we ask that you keep the dog with you while we work to find a new home. If there is a timeline that needs to be met, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible to find a new family placement.

When you adopt a dog from us, you become part of our family, and we will be there to support you for the lifetime of your dog. We hope that you will be inclined to join us on our mission to save shelter dogs, educate the public, and support other dog owners!
