Meet Jackson... a very friendlly, athough sometimes aloof blue heeler. He needs a foster home for two weeks until he has his neuter surgery. He is then available for adoption. Jackson bonds quickly with 'his' person and then thrives on outside activities such as hiking and exploring. Jogging and walking are favorites, too. Jackson can be a bit stubborn at times because it appears he's never received much direction and training. He's incredibly intelligent and is learning quickly that following the rules is always rewarded with praise and great treats. He's ok with kids but because he can sometimes have the natural heeler intensity, kids must be over 12yrs old. He prefers to be outdoors (most likely he was an outside dog) so he can be trusted outside in good weather for a reasonable amount of the day. He has recently been crate trained and is doing great if left alone inside. Because he was obviously an outside dog, he still needs just a bit more help with his house training. Jackson is very easy going and not very vocal so he'd love to have an easy going, yet athletically active home. He's ok with other dogs but he can be a bit dominant with the boys so another female playmate or no other dogs in the home would be best.
