Brava's Story...
Brava is a very brave little girl who was brought in by herself by one of our feral trappers. She hid for about a day but quickly forgot how lonely she was when she saw toys and met loving people. She was soon joined by four kitten friends and left those lonely days in the dust! She is an amazing little lady!

To see Brava, submit an online application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. Kittens six months old and younger are best adopted in pairs; HSFC adheres to best practices when placing pets with adopters.

HSFC offers extended hours until 7 pm on Wednesdays by APPOINTMENT for viewing and adoptions at our cat, rabbit, small mammal, and bird offices at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brava, a Fairfax Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Fairfax, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Fairfax.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairfax already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairfax breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairfax paves the way for another one to be saved.
