Onyx (FCID# 06/16/2016-23) joined his foster family on 10/1/2016 at roughly 8-9 months old, after spending 3 1/2 months in a crate while waiting to be placed with a foster and the streets of Philadelphia before that. He was quite shy when he arrived but has evolved into an affectionate and loyal little boy. He follows his foster mom everywhere and comes running when his name is called. In recent weeks, Onyx has expanded his trust circle to include all members of his foster family but is still quite shy with visitors. And although he is not a fan of being picked up (and we work on it everyday!), do not be surprised if he snuggles up on your lap or props himself against your legs at night. While he resides harmoniously with other foster kitties and the family's pets, including both cats and a dog, he is anxious to begin a life with his own family and home. Onyx loves to be petted from his head to the tip of his 13-inch tail; he purrs at the drop of a dime. He is a lean, gorgeous boy, with bowed back legs and green eyes. He has panther-like reflexes during play time with string, balls and catnip; he also uses a scratching post nicely (instead of furniture!).
