Hi, I’m Charlie!
Nice to meet you! I am a 1-year-old Shih Tzu mix, am completely vetted and chipped! But you don’t have to worry about me running away from you, though I ask that I am always on a leash when outside my yard, just in case!
I am so smart and have learned to sit all by myself and watching the other Pup’s and with treats, please. My fur-friends are very fun and have been teaching me the ways of a dog’s life and I am picking things up fast. My Foster Mom is home a lot so I get to go outside with the others so potty training is going good. I will need to be able to be in my crate while you are away for long periods of time and maybe during the night until I get acclimated as I don’t know if I might have an accident. Time and patience will take care of that as I learn to hold it during the night. So far, only one accident here at my foster home. Yay me!!!
Because I grew up in a home that was a little unstable, I am a bit unsure of men. Please be patient with me, speak kindly and give lots of treats and you will be rewarded with lots of cuddly love and attention from me! I love to play with everyone and am good with other fur-friends of all kinds and sizes. I am also learning to love cats! (My Foster Mom’s kitty is pretty cool and we both appreciate each other and our space!)
If you would allow, your bed is the place I feel the safest and I don’t take up much room but do understand that a big fluffy bed beside your bed will work also! I love chew toys, playing fetch and oh, I do keep myself entertained, especially if you have long drapes or with the shower curtain. I like to hide and then find my way out of the jungle of that soft stuff you people call fabric. But I don’t chew on it!
Breakfast and dinner are two of my favorite times of the day right now as I just didn’t get much to eat and I am playing catch up. I don’t mind my Foster Mom to handle my food but asking for a bit of patience with you Guys. I just need to feel secure and that I can learn to trust! I have only been here at my Foster Mom’s (who by the way is the Best!) for a week, and her son and I get along fantastic and he even gets my food and plays a lot with me.
I am just a love bucket as they call me! And hanging out with you and being one of the gang is what I do best. I love walks, riding in the car and just being a dog! I love being with my people and will follow you everywhere you go, and yes even to that funny room with the funny chair that is in your bedroom!
I am ready to finally meet my new Fur-Ever Humans and start a new and happy journey with you!
