Fannie Mae's Story...
"Fannie Mae" is a sweet 10-year old female Yellow Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix who arrived at the HSOV on November 28, 2016 after she was picked up in Whipple Ohio by the Washington County Dog Warden. This beautiful lady has a tan-and-cream short smooth coat, a docked tail, and an adorable face with silver shading around her eyes/muzzle, a black button nose, and short floppy ears. "Fannie Mae" has a calm, quiet disposition and friendly, easygoing personality. She is a gentle soul who will surely melt your heart. "Fannie" opted to continue her nap but graciously posed for some preliminary photos the afternoon she made her debut at our shelter. We are listing her as a 'Special Needs Dog' since she has several fatty cysts on her body which should be examined by a veterinarian. "Fannie Mae" weighs 67 lbs. She will be available for adoption on December 1, 2016 if she is not reclaimed before that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fannie Mae, a Marietta Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Boxer for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
